Remington Portable 2 Typewriter
So, why does a typewriter belong in the math collection? I had a Remington Portable 2 typewriter in college which I did all my work on, even typed my first resume with it. At some point in the last 15 years we became separated. I think it was a garage sale, or the dump. Wanting to get another one like it for nostalgia reasons, I searched for a while and saw this one on Ebay. However, it turned out to be a little more "unique" than originally thought. Instead of the standard type keys, several were mathematical in nature. The 2 and 3 key have samller superscript 2 and 3 for powers, a square-root symbol, pi, omega, a degree symbol, and a couple of different division symbols. Definitely a rare font combination, as I can't find any information on it. This is actually one of my favorite items. Click here for sample type.
