'KES'
Kes blew into my life like a whirlwind at ten weeks old. She was the happiest Doberman I ever owned, her tail never stopped it's constant movement. Life was a big party to Kes and she was determined to enjoy every minute.
Kes took me places in the dog world I had never been. She was a beautiful deep red and had structure and movement that breeders and owners would kill to have. I remember the very instant that she finished her championship at just two years old. We were at Canby at the Specialty. She was standing there with her beautiful pose - the one she would give me only if I didn't attempt to actually touch her! The judge pointed to her and I was beside myself with happiness. One of my competitors turned to me and said "thank god she finished, I'm so sick of staring at her butt!" It was a once in a lifetime weekend. Kes finished out the next two days as a Special winning Best of Breed. To me she was a special every day of her life.
Kes achieved her Working Aptitude Test, which is a strict Doberman temperament test at the age of four. We went on to do some obedience and agility. She obtained the titles in agility of NA, OA, and NAJ. Although I only got her in the obedience ring twice, she did me proud and got two legs. I never had the chance to finish her CD - I thought I had plenty of time……
Kes is our foundation bitch, she was an excellent producer and I had a number of people ask If I would breed her again, I didn't. She gave us Captain and Anya and I am grateful that we still have part of her with us.
