Heritage Institute Courses |
|
Thank you for your interest in the Heritage Institute courses Developing Concentration and Focus: Yoga and Healthy Practices (April 17, 2010 in Seattle - Ballard Community Service Center, 1 quarter credit) and/or Staying Healthy in Stressful Times: Samish Island Retreat (July 15, 2010 on drive-to Samish Island, Skagit County, 1 quarter credit ). I hope to see you at class! Both of these classes share the common beliefs that the best way to encourage well-being in our students is by living and modeling optimum health and that we do this not only for the benefit of ourselves, but for all beings. Positive self care is essential. There will be ample opportunities in both classes to experience the components of optimal health: connection, introspection, laughter, movement and spiritual nourishment. Especially powerful in the Staying Healthy in Stressful Times class will be the opportunity for participants to give and receive Watsu. Watsu is passive warm water therapy conducted in 94 degree water that gently stretches the body and benefits body, mind, and spirit. For more information regarding Watsu click on the Watsu link of the Soothing Waters web page: www.soothingwaters.net Specifics about both of these classes and course syllabi can be found on the Heritage Institute website: www.hol.edu by clicking on Workshops and Field Studies and then clicking on the workshop names: Developing Concentration and Focus: Yoga and Healthy Practices and/or Staying Healthy in Stressful Times: Samish Island Retreat.
