This is a true story of recent events with myself, a five day power outage and my new best friend….the EU2000i.
When the lights first fizzled, out came the oil lamps and the flashlight and then came...the GENERATOR!
Being a person that has no love what so ever for the power company, living minimally comes natural so I easily got the generator hooked up and running in about ten minutes.
Total wattage the 2000i can product is 2000 watts max with 1600 watts common and my needs totaling a mere 180 watts average up to 980 watts when using the microwave and all other appliances together. Heat is supplied via wood stove.
Average daily fuel use came to one gallon per 15 hours as I was running well below 1/4 power capacity.
The generator running in ECO mode is self load adjusting and quiet as a mouse, noise at 10 feet was barely audible.
Power was smooth with no indication via the TV or computer that you were using a portable generator.
All in all, the EU2000i has performed beyond all expectations and when I bought it just a year ago for $673.00 complete including freight from Wise Sales that just sweetened the deal. NOTE: Price should NEVER be the sole reason to by a generator, consider it life support, would you cut corners on that?
If you need a generator, be sure to get what you need, not what you think.
Check what appliances you would need to survive, note their power consumption and which will and will not need to run all the time and that should set you up for a generator that will fill the need and get you through in comfort.

The Honda Inverter Technology makes this generator ideally suited for use with sensitive electronics (e.g., computer, fax, printer, and telephone, stereo) because the generator produces a clean sine wave of energy that prevents surging. To prevent any possible damage to the unit, the Oil Alert will shut the unit off when the oil drops below a safe operating level.
