Kilnaleck

"Kilnaleck is a market and fair town, in the parish of Crosserlough or Kildrumferton, barony of Castlerahan, Co. Cavan, head of a petty sessional and dispensary district in Cavan Union, Protestant and Catholic dioceses of Kilmore, 10 miles from Oldcastle railway station, 11 miles south-east from Cavan and 6 miles from Ballyjamesduff. The town is of a very unpretending appearance, about 3 miles from Lough Sheelin, one of the most picturesque lakes in Ireland, which is dotted with many islets, on several of which are ancient ruins. The Protestant Church of Crosserlough is about a mile from the town and the Catholic place of worship about 2 miles distant. "
