Who Are We

The WSPA is a group of over 100 friendly, and knowledgeable, "old-timers" and individuals new to the sport of Water Flying.   Our main objective is to Keep Washington Waterways OPEN.  And, we try to have some fun while doing it.  We gather together on a number of occasions each year to share our interests and lives.

My thirst for knowledge 7 years ago when I came to Washington included two new venues; Seaplanes and the Great Northwest.  I was not familiar with either one.  SPA had some information, and WSPA seemed to have a small social group that did some important things in the background.  I wanted more.

We had just purchased a magnificently restored Republic Seabee and I wanted to know more about the airplane and this fantastic area we call the Northwest, I wasn't familiar with either one.  I found other "Bee" owners and a few local WSPA members willing to share their favorite destinations and the knowledge needed to operate there safely.  We want to do just that, and I feel the internet and e-mail communication is just the tool to help us;
1-Keep our waters open
2-Operate Safely
3-Share the knowledge
4-Have some Fun

We are now able to provide the information you seek and hopefully we are bringing our efforts from the "background" forward.  It is imperative that we stay on top of these very important issues.  And, it is imperative that we operate safely.  So, please share your experience with us to make this as fun, and as safe as it can be.  If you have questions about this electronic stuff, call, or email me.

I hope you enjoy the website and find it informative.  We will be adding to it as we go, I have a ton of information to post and hopefully we can get it updated on a regular basis.  If you have any ideas about how to make this a better, more useful, safer or more beneficial organization, please let us know that too.

We are also looking for some volunteers to take an interest in building this organization.  I'd like you all to ask yourselves... "how can my skills or personality, help the WSPA?"  Try a little participation, can't hurt, guaranteed to be fun, if your too busy... too bad.
